Girls Can’t Be Farmers

Girls Can’t WHAT? FarmerAdmit it.  When you see the word “farmer,” you automatically think of a man on a tractor.  Why?  Can’t girls be farmers, too?

I don’t have a clue about farming.  You might think I would know at least something since I live in right smack in the center of Illinois, one of the largest producers of corn and soybeans in the US and perhaps because my husband is an accountant for one of the biggest companies in the food industry.  (He is literally a “bean counter”.)  But, sadly, I can only identify a tractor by it’s shape and color.

So for my research, I asked my sister what she thought about my farmer design.  I figure she would be an accurate resource since she is married to a farmer and lives on a farm.  ;)   She spouted off a bunch of brand names for tractors like John Deere and New Holland and insisted I make at least one tractor in blue for her.  Easy enough!  :D

I did attempt some Google searches for “women in agriculture” and discovered there is a really cool site called www.womeninagriculture.org. Go figure. Farming women have their own network.  Sweet!

The Girls Can’t WHAT? Farmer design is available in red and New Holland blue. Select from the most popular products below or click here for a complete list of available Farmer designs.

Update: Apparently you can trademark colors or something because I was notified by John Deere that my yellow and green colored tractor was a copyright infringement. Who knew? :-??

So for now, I am being nice and removing the green design. I do plan to alter the colors and re-post a green tractor minus the yellow colors soon. ;)
