After the Storm

Hey – this is just an FYI to let you know where I’ve been. We had an ice storm that knocked out our power for a few days. After freezing my rear end off for a couple of days, I finally bummed an Internet connection off of kel1 to keep up with email, but I haven’t been able to add anything new to the site. Our power is back on now and I’m catching up, so I thought I’d give everyone a heads up on what’s in the works for Girls Can’t WHAT?

New Look!

First, some new changes will be taking place this week. The site will be getting a slight makeover to keep it from looking cluttered as I rearrange a few things behind the scenes. The login and menu areas will be slightly different in color and location, but they will remain mostly the same in format. The layout of the site will be slightly narrower and there will be two columns instead of three. The forums will also have more room to expand.

I Don’t Like Crackers and Spam

Speaking of forums…in order to keep up with security issues, I am going to update the forums this week as well. You may experience a little downtime while I am working on this. The updates will keep crackers from breaking in and posting spam comments and junk advertising. I deal with cracking attempts on this site nearly every day so updates are critical to keeping this site in operation.

The forum updates will also include changes in the private messaging system. I will back everything up as usual before I proceed, but there is a possibility that a message may get lost in the transition. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience. I think you will find that the new features of the private messaging system to be quite an improvement and you will be able to better configure your profile to fit your needs. Thank you for your patience as I complete this upgrade. Stay warm!
