Tomorrow (Thursday, April 23rd) is “Take Our Daughters To Work” Day.
Personally, I don’t participate in this one on the actual date because my daughters are home with me all summer and get to see first hand what I do for a living. They see me get up early, work from my home office with fun music and hot tea. For activities, we often review books together or bounce ideas around. They enjoy helping pick out colors for new designs and of course they like to model for me and do product testing. Most of all, they get to see that I love what I do and that I can’t wait for each new day to start because I never know what fun things I will discover or what fabulous new friends I will meet.
Even though there’s not much time left to prepare, it’s not too late to plan something special with your child. Check out the “Take Our Daughters to Work” site for tips and ideas to make the day memorable. It doesn’t have to be a big grandiose event. I imagine your child will be pleased just to spend time with you and learn more about what you do. If tomorrow doesn’t work out, create your own special day. You will be glad you did.
