Girls Can’t Run
As mentioned earlier, I am working on a series of track and field designs for the Girls Can’t WHAT? Shop. There are so many different running events, from Marathons to relays races to individual sprints. I couldn’t think of a better way to encompass them all into a single design except to show the winner triumphantly crossing the finish line. I think that sums it up. Since running is a multi-faceted sport, I thought I’d leave the favorites up to you folks. Tell me who your favorite female runner is in the comments below. ![]()
Girls Can’t Put The Shot
It’s track and field season in the sports world, so after a recent request for a shot put design, I decided to work up some new athletic characters for the famous Olympic-inspired competitions.
In case anyone is wondering, the women aren’t very far behind in record-holding for the shot put. According to wikipedia, the current world records are held by Read more
Why I’m a Lady Linebacker
Excellent article by linebacker Jordyn White on The Root, chronicling her football career and why she enjoys the game so much.
Special thanks to Jordyn’s teammate Allison from the DC Divas for the tip. ![]()
Girls Can’t Ride Bulls
As the topic of girls riding bulls grew hotter and hotter, I decided to buckle down and get this design done. Just in time for Christmas, too, if you order within the next couple of days!
Mac Miller was the first girl I interviewed that sparked interest on the topic of girls bull riding. Since then, bull riding for women has continued to be one of the most popular topics here. The Bull Rider design is now available in the Girls Can’t WHAT?™ shop. It comes on tote bags, hoodies, t-shirts, stickers, magnets, posters and more.
Open the gate and bring it on! Who says cowgirls can’t ride bulls? Show ‘em you can rope and ride with the Girls Can’t WHAT?™ Bull Rider. Eight seconds? No problem. Rodeo Queens can ride, too, and that’s no bull.
Problem or Potential?
I wanted to cheat today and pick another quote, but I didn’t. I just think today’s words of wisdom need no explanation:
“If human beings are perceived as potentials rather than problems, as possessing strengths instead of weaknesses, as unlimited rather that dull and unresponsive, then they thrive and grow to their capabilities.” ~ Barbara Bush
When I loaded the home page and first read this morning’s random quote, I immediately thought of the “Girls Can’t Play Football” thread. Here are some girls who really enjoy the game and would love nothing more than an opportunity to play. They aren’t trying to break up the boys club. They’d gladly play on a girls team if one existed. If you read through the thread, you will see some girls are perceived as potentials and other are perceived as problems. You can also see which ones are thriving and which ones aren’t. Notice a pattern?
