when i tell people that i am a junior firefighter they do not believe me. this really helps me in knowing that someone out there supports us females in what we want to achieve. this simple yet meaningful picture means a lot to us female firefighters. i am also a junior firefighter but i am the only female on there and it is really tough but i am going to hang in there and go through what i have to.
Chamellia
I’m in the state fire academy to get nationally certified as a firefighter and my crew has 3 great women in it. We never even think about being different from the men because we know we are more than capable of doing what they can do. Thanks for noticing.
missjrfirefighter
Yea, im the only girl on my fd to. But I still like to be treated like im one of the guys, and it always makes me mad when we have a new guy come on and treat me diffrently just because im a girl. But I love to do everything the guys do and prove them wrong when they say I cant do something. (hehe I like to see the shoked expressions they get!) :d

Great Idea! again, i am the only female firefighter in the 2 departments i run with. as well as being a EMT, the guys have no problem respecting me and realizing i can do all the same things they do. the fire service is a great brotherhood family to be part of, and i will never have it any other way. god bless our military and emergencey service personnel!

Thanks! This was definitely one of may favorites to create. It’s quite popular as well. I’ve sold quite a few of them both here in the USA and in Australia.

I love the idea…Ive been with my department for about 5mths and and I love it when I can get out there and do my job as good as or even better then the men. I guess Im one of the lucky ones. The guys in my deparment pick on me alot but they also treat me fairly. I love them very much. They really are my second family.

I totally love this design! I am a Vol. Firefighter/First Responder and member of our Rescue Squad! I am HazMat Ops.. Jaws Tech, and going EMT
I’m Choctaw #28 in Arkansas.
I am of course a GIRL..
My shirt I have on now is one that says:
“Real Women Don’t Run From Fires They Run IN”
So this design definitely goes with my style.
Girls can do anything that they want.. HA!
Cathy
For x-mas I got the sweatshirt and t-shirt. I love them!!!!
gretchen
Awesome – glad you like them.

i love this picture, i am a jr. firefighter and it really shows that girls can do anything that the guys can. i have a lot of people come up to me and say that must be hard being with all guys? and its really not, i am the only girl in my dept. and it feels really good. my dad is fire chief and i have always loved it. :d

THIS IS AWESOME. i am a firefighter and i have already been told that “its a mans job, leave it to them”. ITS NOT A MANS JOB. anyone who is willing to give their life for another, has the right to do so! I LOVE this design
ROCK ON

i am also a jr. female firefighter! i really like the design!!! i cant wait to show it to my dad, who is one of my fellow firefighters! i will beg him to get this on a hoodie for me! then i can show it off at my two station!! in both of my station i am the 2nd female on the crew. i get picked on sometimes, but thats part of being in a dept.i also hate getting new guys who think they can push their weight with me! of corse i prove them wrong.thanks for the support!!
babygirl2882
I hope to be a firefighter paramedic someday and its great that there are people out there to support all the women who do things that they are told they can’t.
Maggie
Im a Jr. Firefighter right now, soon moving up to the Seniors. And I have all my training to ride. There are other females in my FD but Im the only one on the fire side. When I first started I wasnted to be an EMT but then I got more into the fire side. When all the guys started to notice that they would alwasy put me down and say I wouldnt make it through…. Well guess what boys!! I DID IT! And now theyre so proud of me and treat like one of them. Some of the people in school that see me wear my fire shirts call me a poser and tell me im just a “wanna be firefighter”. It doesnt bother me cause I know that I have already succeeded in becoming one. When I go to look for stuff that are fire dept things most of them are for males and for the girlfriends of them, its good to finally see something for us females and to recognize all out work we put into becoming one!
sarah
are there any firefighters from australia here? im about to apply to do a tafe course and i am wondering if i should bother. are there any age restrictions? do you have to be a volunteer before you can do ther course? this would be really helpful to know.
thanks

Love that Design! I have been an EMT for over a year, and have joined a station that is EMT/Fire Fighters….so I will be entering Fire Fighter I in the fall. WHOO HOO! Me and 2 other girls used the hydraulic tools during extrication training and we messed up that car pretty good. Girls can do ANYTHING!
FireGurl09

kristina
i’m a explorer at my dads fd and this will help me and friends there. and show it to all four st.and laugh at all my firemen brothers there and show what i know when i get on
sam
I am the only female jr. firefighter in my company and i have to fight to show the other three guys up. This is a cool idea and i really think it would make an appression on the guys in our company. they act like if i do somthing illl break a nail or my wrist, or they will all desert me and make me do all the work tish shirt would realy make a difference.
sammie460
I am one of three active ff in the company. I have grown to love every aspect of the place (minus the constant drama!!!) i am def getting one of those sweatshirts and rocking it around the firehouse! Ive been a member since 06 and luckily i have had some time to prove my toughness, but wearing a sweatshirt like that will be the icing on the cake!
laura

HEYY STOP THIS woooww im a at school firefighter and and didnt have to talk and say whatever to a guy to make him see i can do what he do WOWW I know I can do what ever I want. its not like a guy its like me and why its not him after that he can do like me?!? i dont want to do like them i want to do better than them alright stop saying girls cant do what? its like if at the beginnin we said that were less good than boys BULSHIT!

firefighter
Man i dont understand the word you said… girls cant to everything what men can and also men cant do everything what girls can its natural and thats why we are here to supplement each other… in firefighting its not important who is better and who is not, its important TO SAVE INJURED PERSON OR PERSON CAUGHT BY FIRE and TO EXTINGUISH FIRE… in the fire we always go in groups of 3 and i dont care if it is a girl in group or man i only care that nobody in that group gets injured or killed…
Kate
I have been a volunteer firefighter since I was 17. I have found a few cute shirts for female firefighters but i love this design. I pretty much grew up at a fire house and was distracted by sports and other school activities when I was first eligible to join my dads dept. So at 17 I finally filled out an application and started training. It is the most fun activity in my life. I love hearing the pager go off and running out the door.
And when you’re in full turnout gear kneeling in the doorway of a burning building you don’t care whose next to you as long as they have the same amount of training as you.
Bonnie
I love the new

Because I just made my mind up for just becoming a firefigther and this really made me feel like I can do it. I have heard al lot “what? gilrs cant be firefigthers” and that really made me think “what if I cant” but now I know I can
thank you
Michelle
im 17 years old and i have already been in 3 house fires, and after the 2nd one i thought about becoming a firefighter, but I dropped that dream because i figured since i was a girl, it’d never happen. but now that im focusing more on my future, all i want to be is a firefighter, because i want to give back to people, what firefighters gave me.. this logo just inspires me more to go for my dream, and..just..not listen to what other people think about it. i want to be a female firefighter, and…im gonna put all my effort into it.
if you have any good information about helping me get started, that’d be awesome.
laura ryan
I just became a jr. fire member a month ago, i really wanted 2 become a jr member but people kept telling me not 2 but my dad said” follow ur dreams don’t let people chose ur dream 4 u. after i d started finding shirts about female fire fighters i got even more inspired. no matter who we are we can save lives, we need more woman like us who will come out of our comfort zone will do things no matter what anyone says.
Rock on Girls, we rock!!!!
Ashley
I have been a jr firefighter for almost 4 years and I have fallen in love with the firestation. I want to be a firefighter/paramedic when I’m able to. After I turn 18 I’ll become a volunteer firefighter for the department I’m a jr with.

I’m so glad I found this site. My 5 y/o granddaughter is determined she will be a firefighter!
She is somewhat of a tomboy, no matter how I try to girliefy her..she is just adorable. She loves everything firefighter & has visited many firehouses. I hope she follows that dream if she gets older & feels that compassionate about it.
Beth
I’m an EMT and i’m about to get my Paramedic certification. I’m going to take the firefighter physical ability test as soon as it comes around again. Good luck to everyone aspiring to be a firefighter and paramedic. it’s a great career and i absolutely love it. Just goes to show that YES WE CAN!

Hello there!! I am Lesli and I am 18! I have been a firefighter for 2 yrs now!. I had to go through alot of trials and tribulations to become what i want to be. I started my 12th grade year getting all of my certifications in high school. My dad was firefighter but them hurt his back, he however was not my insperation. I got in to Collinsville Fire Dept. because i had to do some volenteering for a class project and i chose there. On my last day they asked if i wanted to apply for the station. I said sure why not!!:d I love the guy’s I hung around. I ran a couple of calls before actually getting in and it was such a rush. Nothing like you will ever IMAGAIN!:) But i went through Fire Fighter 1 and Fire Fighter 2 I received the certifications for Fire 1, Fire 2, Hazard Materials Awareness, Haz Mat Opps, CPR, First Aid, Mayday Fire Fighter Down. Girls let me tell you its all worth it. All you learn will come in handy!. I am now taking EMT and after that paramedic. I want to become a paid firefighter and show the guys how it’s really Done!!! lol I know its 80′s but girl power:d lol. If you need anything let me know
fishygirl
dude, if woman ( or teen girls) want to be a firefighter, you should keep trying to make that come true!:x:d:)>-
Tanya
I love this design! I am a career firefighter and it is hard to find ANYTHING that is geared toword women. This is great. And ladies- it CAN be done and it is the best job on Earth! It still amazes me everytime I go to work that I get paid to do this
Anna
I was searching the web for Female Firefighter Apparel, and came across his site. I am 18 years old, and I also am a firefighter, and a Rescue Technician. I also am a wildland firefighter. I had never dreamed that I would be a firefighter, I always wanted to be a nurse. I also am completing my EMT-B. I also am a twin, and me and my sister are the only females on our department. I had to prove to alot of the guys that I was just as tough as they were. I also met my future husband in the department, and we were engaged this year. It is th emost exciting and rewarding career you will ever have, we need many more females, because hey, girls can do anything guys can do!
gretchen
Anna that’s awesome! Please feel free to Share Your Story…

I’m 24 years old and just completed the first part of my training for being a Firefighter. I am the only female on my department and I am the only female in my classes. I encourage any female that wants to be a firefighter to go out and do it. There are a lot of people out there that think that females can’t do what they consider and mans job. But me and a lot of other women out there have proven them wrong. I won’t lie it is a little harder on a female to get through the training because you have to prove to those guys that you can do it as good as them and sometimes better. I had a guy that has been in the fire service for along time and has had three females on his department tell me that I was wasting my time and everyone else’s time because I wasn’t going to pass. When he told me that it made me mad and made me try even harder. The first time I seen him on a fire scene he shook his hand and dropped his head down and walked away because he was wrong. I’m proud to be a female firefighter and hope that there will be many more on departments around the world. One last thing I am the first female to ever be on my department. So if there has never been a female on your local department be the first one. I wish everyone luck in the future.
Becky
I am also a female firefighter. One of three on our department. I was not the first female firefighter on our department, but I am the first to be approved in driving & operating our pumper. I can relate to what you are saying. It is harder for a female. The guys can make mistakes all day long, but the fist time I make one…its “because I’m a girl”. I disagree, its because Im human, just like guys. I can, have and will make more mistakes, but most important thing is, I will learn from them. Most of the guys on our department are a great bunch of guys..they are usually not the ones to criticize, its usually the general public. But the again, they expect a volunteer fire department to be experts…its not going to happen. Hey, Two thumbs up for you for being a female firefighter. I’m 40 years old, I wish I could have started at your age, so you keep up the good work.
gretchen
Thanks for sharing that Becky. Feel free to post in the “your story” section if you’d like.
