“Eye roll” made me laugh. I am now retired but served as a pastor/chaplain for over 40 years. I totally applaud what you are doing and I love this icon. It’s been a long road getting here. And always remember ladies, it was the women who ran back to town shouting the news of the Resurrection! Hmmm, the FIRST to preach the Gospel?? Guess the men were still sleeping.:) Keep your sense of humor and always build each other UP. Good job.

Women cannot preach because the apostle Paul said as much in his first letter to Timothy. It’s really a very simple thing to understand. Women who act as pastors are ignoring a clear mandate from God’s Word. They are not seen as true Church leaders by Christ and are showing Him a great deal of disrespect.

A true Christian is to see Scripture alone as authority. Therefore, appealing to feelings and so on is irrelevant.

Thanks for the suggestions. I used a fist because I was thinking more along the lines of emphasizing a point, but I can see where it could be taken as an “angry” gesture. I should be able to make those modifications soon.

I like it, but I agree with the above comment. I would add a stole and get rid of the fist. Otherwise, I love it!

I don’t like the raised fist, it could look angry. Also, the robe kinda looks like a graduation robe rather than a ‘ministerial’ one- I think maybe because the robe w/ the undesignated book doesn’t speak “preacher” to me. I only know she’s a preacher b/c you told me she was… :)
