Officer Kimberly Munley

Yesterday’s shooting spree at Fort Hood could have been much worse had female officer Kimberly Munley not responded with lightning reflexes.  Within minutes of the sound of gunfire Munley, a civilian police officer, began firing on the suspect.

The gunman turned and charged directly at her with a firearm in each hand.  Munley wasted no time in discharging a bullet into his upper body, bringing him down and allowing the other officers to take him into custody.

In all, Officer Munley shot him four times.  Not bad for a girl. Oh and get this…she was shot in the thighs and wrist and still managed the courage and strength to stop the madness.  Extra kudos in my book go out to Officer Munley for her bravery and quick thinking.

Our thoughts are also with the men and women still dealing with the aftermath of this tragedy.

Ooops, turns out she never got a shot off.

Yes, I read that this morning. Still, she responded to the call. She still gets props for that and for taking a bullet. Very few people would do that. :) >-
