Anna’s Dad Won’t Let Her Play Football

My dad says I cant play football because the boys are too big at this age. I say…heck…I’ll kick those boys butts if I want to.  I can be as good or better than those boys if I want to.

I LOVE TO PLAY FOOTBALL!

  • Make sure that you take care of your knees though. While girls can do whatever they put their minds to. The fact remains that girls tear ligaments in their knees at a much higher rate than guys. I would recommend that you see a physical therapist for guidance in how to do knee strengthening and flexibility exercises to prevent injuries. This would also have the potential to make you faster and more agile. You would not have to continue to go to the PT after you have been shown how to do the exercises unless you want to. I am a current medical student and I used to work with physical therapy. I would recommend this to most football players (or really any athlete), but ESPECIALLY for girls. The statistics on ACL tears in female athletes are astronomical and this can be helped with the proper preparation.

  • Hi i came upon this on a google search. I play football for my middle school (eighth grade) as a wide receiver and I love it. Althought I am one of the shortest on my team, im the 6th fastest out of 89 boys. Girls can do anything they want to and shouldn’t let what people say affect them. I am going to continue to live my dream and hopefully play at the college of my dreams!
