Anna Knows Her Sports So Don’t Give Her “The Look”

Submitted By: Anna | Age: 15

I’m not the typical girl. I don’t really dress up ever or wear pink all the time or anything like that. Not only is my favorite color blue, I am pretty much obsessed with sports. If there is any form of sports on, I will watch it. I’m not afraid to talk about them either.

Whenever I’m out in public and me and my mom are talking about the latest sports game or the last NASCAR race, there is bound to be one guy that overhears us. Every time we get “the look.” Basically the look that any guy will give a girl who talks sports. The look of “but you are a girl, how do you know about that?” its classic. I love it.

Not only in stores and stuff does this happen, but even at school. I’ll talk about the basketball game last night or the football game over the weekend, and I will get the same look. The look of confusion. the look of, “but you are a girl. Girls can’t know about sports!”

Anna – I know “the look” all too well. I get it more for knowing about computers and drums. Especially drums. It’s like they think girls can’t possible have any rhythm.

I think “the look” is something like this –> /:)
