A real basketball player, not a “wanna be”

Girls BasketballMy entire 5th grade year I was told I was a “wanna be” basketball player and that I stunk when they had never even seen me play before. So I started bringing a basketball to school. I went down to the basketball court everyday and they were secretly watching me play.

Ever since that day, they didn’t say a word to me UNTIL 6th grade. In 6th grade it started happening again, I started playing for the 6th grade basketball team and the other students would come watch. Those people who made fun of me quit. One of them is my best friend right now so it really is true that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

If you just give somebody a chance, good things can happen.

Sarah – I love your last sentence… “If you just give somebody a chance, good things can happen.”

    What a fabulous statement. :)
