Bull Riders. Men or Women

When you think of bull riding you think of strong, athletic men. Well men aren’t just the only ones that bull ride. I know a few girl bull riders. Being a BULL RIDER you have to be strong. When my parents told me when I get on a bull it’ll put a new meaning cowboy/girl in my vocabulary. It’s true. But you have to have a strong heart also, most of the bull riders think that guys are the only ones that can. but thats not true at all. I am better than some of the guys and that apparently doesn’t look good for some of the guys because they don’t want to be known as the guy who got beat by a girl at bull riding! I love it, it is soooo much fun!

    well im a girl im 13 nd i bullride.alot of guys tel lme i cant do it well i prove them worng ive rodeo bulls that the guys couldnt.im the only girl bullrider in the rodeo i go to achualy im the only girl bullrider in alot of rodeos but i love doing it and i have no fear in doing it i get to meet alot of grate people. i have alot of support from my family.

    imlocated in bradenton. i have alot of plans for bullrideing but only one dream in bullrideing im hopeing to make it to the pbr and ride in one of the shows.

    well I have a lot of plans and dreams for bullrideing. I want to be able to ride in the PBR and have a sponsor that will support me .I’ve had a lot of experiences in bullrideing iv broken my shoulders my arms I have a metal plate and 8 screws in my left arm I was rideing a bull nd I fell when I fell he stepped on my back nd my arm was next to me when the bulls foot slipped off my vest nd stepped on my arm nd snapped both bones in half. But I still do it because its like a drug once u do it u can never stop. I just want to be able to make it to the pbr and make some money so I can give half of whatever I make to the children with cancer.and I would also like to meet Adreano morias.     You might enjoy the “women Bull Riders Only” web site. Go to www.crazycriterjp.tripod.com and you should find it.

    My main question at this point is how often do you get on at a practice pen or in a rodeo/bull ride. Bull riding is like any other sport … the more you practice, the better you get. Getting on practice pen bulls, bucking machines and going to events to the extent your time and budget will allow is critical.

    Also, have you gone to any bull riding camps?

    I’m 15 and I have been told a lot of different things, like girls not being able to do better than men in bull riding. I am going to compete next year. I’ve already found an association and stock contractor that will let me ride. I plan on being really good and going to the PBR, I have been riding horses ever since I was 4.
    My mom is really supportive, I am just getting gear ready!

    THANKS GUYS for all of the comments… i have just returned from the best rodeo camp ever! Becomming Champions Rodeo camp. It is a christian camp and they treated me no different. When i checked in the women told me that the only difference between me and my friend was the tent we were staying in. it was true. i got hung up was the only problem but it was fun i knew it would happen sometime i have a myspace if u would like to look me up. www.myspace.com/meenaluvstyler thanks meena

    hi i am from new jersey and am 19 i am really interesting in bull riding but i don’t know how to get in it i was wondering if there is anyway you could help … i have been riding horses every since i was little and have always wanted to get into bull riding but guys around me arent to understanding and i don’t anyone who could tell me where to go

    hey the women bull riders only is my site, I really like to get feedback on it, so check it out. I’m not riding right now, I was getting banged up a lot, and it got me down.     Jocelyn … Thanks for being willing to keep your web site up and help out others. Your comment about being hurt and letting it get you down says a whole lot about this sport. Part of it is how well you can ride .. the other part is how well you respond to set backs like injuries. I hope you get your spirits up and continue.

    Hey!
    I would love to be a bull riding some day soon. Say in the next year or so. When people at school ask me what I want to do when I grow up I say “Ride bulls” Some times random guys come up and go “are the girl that wants to ride bulls when you get older?” and laugh. And all I do is smile and say ” Ya. You got a problem with that.?” And they most of the time say no and go away. But, I just HATE it when guys think they can do things that us girls can. Its bull-sh*t and im sick of it. Im shocked that in ALL the rodeos iv been too not ONE girl has riden a bull…:o

    BlueBerry …. Glad to see another girl wants to be a bull rider. We need more. Here are a few thoughts.

    1. Clean up the language and lose the attitude.. I hope you don’t speak like you write. It does not make you appear any “tougher.” I am assuming you hope to secure some sponsors along the way .. that’s not going to attract them. Watch the PBR on TV, especially the interviews and note how polite and gracious the top bull riders really are

    2. Go to as many bull riding camps as your time and $ allow.

    3. Go to practice pens as often as your time and $ will allow

    4. Be prepared for the pain and medical expenses associated with this sport

    5. Quit worrying about what the guys say and get busy proving them wrong. This is not a contest between you and them, it’s a contest between you and the next bull.

    Women riding bulls isn’t a new concept. I’m 57 but in my early twenties practiced on the bucking rig for months before entering a rodeo to ride the bulls. It was fun and exciting and I did no worse than most of the guys.

    I just lost a firend and it made me relize how short life is. I am 18 and love the sport of bull riding. After the loss of my friend it made me want to get on a bull more than ever for him but i just dont know were to start.

    Hey im 15 years old and I always wanted to become a bull rider im going to take bull riding school this year and u never know I just might be the first girl on PBR I just hope I am but I have always been around horses all my live. so it’s time to do somthing diffrent and why im doing bull riding I just hope I find the perfect cowboy for me.

    its not cool to give up like most girls do because of what boys say and if your taking alot of hard shots from the bull and your still riding it just shows how tough you are and if you think your not getting any farther your wrong because the more you ride the more you get better

    But not guys are bad this one guy the new guy gave me some insprioring words that helped me to get through my bull ride i was a worried about this bull that i had drawn because it had long horns and it was the biggest one and very fat i seen this one dude ride him before and that guy got stomped really bad and i was worried that might happen to me but then he told me he proably wouldn’t be so because it was just that one time at another area so i took in those words deeply and got on him but didn’t make a ride i got a 5.1 time but i seemed to be afraid at one time but when i nodded the fear just went away and after that ride i went up to the new guy and told him that i was greatful for his advice he said well he liked to help out other people espesaly girls i blushed a little

    i was 10rs old and now im 13yrs old but i wasn’t any good at first so my dad made me quit for 1 or 2 yrs it sucked big time i was bad until my dad failly let me ride again i just showed him i can do it because every afternoon me and some of my friends rode on my farm and some of us were the rodeo clowns but i prefer bull fighters and my older brother helped us and my dad sometimes would watch us ride and he saw that i was getting better so he let me ride again a now im in first place.
