Sorry, but I can’t resist writing this.   American Idol just cracks me up.

10 Signs That You’ve Failed Your American Idol Audition

  1. You say “I’m sorry” when you finish.
  2. Randy and/or Simon is laughing.
  3. Paula hides her face behind her papers and won’t look at you.
  4. There is an awkward pause after you finish.
  5. Simon stops you in the middle of your song.
  6. You are singing a show tune.
  7. Simon’s first question after you sing is “How do you think you sounded?”
  8. Randy does not immediately say “Simon, what do you think, man?”
  9. Paula grooves along with you in a very patronizing way.
  10. You have to ask if you can sing another song.

    Another sign would have to be “You walk in the room and the looks of stunned amazement on the judges’ faces at your appearance rival that of deer caught in headlights.”
