Sweetnam, Skye (Singer/Songwriter)
Skye Alexandra Sweetnam (born May 5, 1988 in Bolton, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian pop rock singer of the early 2000s. She released her first single, “Billy S.”, in 2003; it appears on her first album, Noise from the Basement, which was released on September 21, 2004. This CD features 13 songs, including the singles “Tangled Up In Me” and “Number One”. Sweetnam has also guest starred on the television show Radio Free Roscoe, to which she sings the theme song. She also sings the theme song to The Buzz on Maggie, which is named “Just the Way I Am”. In 2006, Sweetnam was nominated for a Juno Award for new artist of the year.

Monika Seleš (pronounced /sɛlɛʃ/; born 2 December 1973, in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia) is a former World No. 1 tennis player. During her career, Seleš won nine Grand Slam singles titles and became the youngest-ever champion at the French Open in 1990. She was the dominant player in the women’s game during 1991 and 1992, but was forced from the sport in 1993 following an on-court attack in which she was stabbed in the back by a spectator. She enjoyed some further success after returning to the competitive game in 1995, but was never again able to consistently reproduce her very best form.
Navratilova, Martina (Tennis Player)
Martina Navrátilová (b. October 18, 1956, in Řevnice, near Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a former World No. 1 woman tennis player. Originally from Czechoslovakia, she defected to the United States in 1975 and became a U.S. citizen in 1981. During her career she won 18 Grand Slam singles titles and 40 Grand Slam doubles titles (31 women’s doubles and 9 mixed doubles). She won the women’s singles title at Wimbledon a record 9 times. She was born Martina Šubertová in 1956. Her parents divorced when she was three, and in 1962 her mother Jana married Miroslav Navrátil, who became her first tennis coach. Martina then took the name of her stepfather (adding the feminine suffix “ová”).

Christine Marie Evert (b. December 21, 1954 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is a former World No. 1 woman tennis player from the United States. During her career, she won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record 7 at the French Open. She also won 3 Grand Slam doubles titles. Evert’s career win-loss record in singles matches of 1,309-146 (.900) is the best of any professional player in tennis history.

Lightner, Candy (Founded MADD)
Candy Lynne Lightner (born May 30, 1946), was the organizer and founding president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). In 1980, Ms. Lightner’s 13-year-old daughter, Cari, was killed by a drunken hit-and-run driver as she walked down a suburban street in California. “I promised myself on the day of Cari’s death that I would fight to make this needless homicide count for something positive in the years ahead” Candy Lightner later wrote.
